The Visible Museum (Muzeum Widziane) 2019 competition handed out its awards during a formal gala held on 23 October at Gdynia City Museum. The Virtual Gas Museum received an award in the category “Website Graphics”.

– We hold this accolade in the highest regard, also because our museum is quite distinctive in this group. Polska Spółka Gazownictwa (PSG) is the national operator of the gas distribution system in Poland; therefore, its daily focus is completely different to the work done by a museum – explains Aleksander Kobyłka, project manager of the Virtual Gas Museum.
– However, we also strive to nurture the long tradition of the gas industry in the Polish lands and discuss it in an inventive and engaging way. Hence the concept of the Virtual Gas Museum – he added.

The idea behind the Visible Museum is the popularisation of the best visual identification systems and graphic solutions implemented by museums, as well as the promotion of knowledge and solutions linked to brand and image building activities. The competition is organised by the National Institute for Museums and Public Collections.
The fourth edition of the competition took place in 2019 and featured as many as 240 applications, which was record-breaking number. The prizes were awarded in six categories. The competition is held every two years.

The patron of the Virtual Gas Museum is Polska Spółka Gazownictwa.
