These plans show that gasworks used to expand gradually, to ultimately achieve their full production capacity in their “maturity”.
This design plan of the municipal gasworks in Paczków, next to the coal storage area and the machinery room, contains the cross-section of a three-metre-high furnace. In the subsequent years, the gasworks continued to expand, and another such furnace was added.
