Exhibit description

Such devices were used to generate very high gas pressures.

These gas compressors are useful when smelting metals in a steel mill, or when producing engine fuels. This particular high-pressure compressor once served in the non-ferrous metalworks located in Szopienice.

Similar powerful devices were used to compress volatile town gas. Thanks to high pressures obtained in special stations, volatile gas transformed into CNG – compressed gas which was used as a vehicle fuel in Upper Silesia.
