Exhibit description

The design shows vertical and horizontal projections for a new horizontal furnace with small chambers for the Glubczyce Gasworks. It was intended to replace the horizontal-retort furnaces used so far.

The furnace with small chambers is a modification of the horizontal-retort furnace. After the modernisation, a furnace chamber was created by combining two stacked retorts into one carbonization space, while the remaining furnace structure (casing) remained unchanged.

The replacement of the furnace was driven by an increase in demand for gas in Glubczyce. However, it did not affect the structure of the entire furnace hall.
